Thank you for choosing Parenting with Harmony, LLC. My name is Harmony Williams. I am a Professionally Certified Supervised Visitation Monitor in Essex County New Jersey.  I provide the professional supervision of court ordered parent-child visitation, as well as assisting in the reintroduction of a parent in a child's life. There are many situations in family law cases, or other cases affecting the parent-child relationship, when the need arises for a professional third party to supervise visitation.
Reasons for referral include:
  • sexual, physical, and emotional abuse of a child
  • parent alienation syndrome
  • domestic violence
  • kidnapping
  • drug and alcohol abuse by a parent
  • and mental illness of a parent

As your Supervised Visitation Monitor it is my goal to promote the social well-being and strengthening of children, families, and communities through mindful facilitation, integrity and transparency. I have over 15 yrs of experience working with children and families as a Professional Family Support Specialist, Certified Life Coach and Parent Educator, focusing specifically on Family Trauma, Separation and Divorce. Parenting and Relationship Coaching has recently lead me to additional certifications in Mandated Reporting as well as Divorce Mediation.

I have an extensive background in Early Childhood Education and spent over 10 years working as a Private Preschool Teacher, Assistant Director and Administrator as well as a Private Family Daycare Provider. I know how important family reunification is which is why I founded Parenting with Harmony, LLC.

I currently offer Off site monitoring to help ensure your child has the most enjoyable time with you during your visit however, every precaution will be taken to select safe, child appropriate locations while our state continues to reopen public spaces. I also offer In-Home visits for those who qualify. You may be able to spend quality time with your child under the guidance and supervision of a supportive and friendly professional visitation monitor in the comfort of your own home.

What is Supervised Visitation?

Supervised visitation allows parents in high conflict or high risk situations access to their children in a safe and supervised environment. The noncustodial parent has access to the child only when supervised by another adult. Supervised visitation is used to protect children from potentially dangerous situations while allowing parental access and providing support for the parent child relationship.
Supervised visitation has many forms, including one-on-one supervision, group supervision, neutral or monitored exchange, telephone or video monitoring, and therapeutic supervision. .
  • One-on-one supervision is when  one parent and that parent's children are supervised alone, but some providers allow guest to also attend.
  • Group supervision may include several parent-child groups in a larger area, supervised by one or more monitors.
  • Neutral or monitored exchange allows parents to pick up and drop off, or exchange the child for changes of possession, without direct contact with each other, minimizing conflict.
  • Telephone or video monitoring has become more popular as people move around the world more, allowing for monitoring of telephone, videoconferencing, and other virtual visitation.
  • Therapeutic supervision is conjoint parent-child therapy conducted by a licensed or certified mental health professional also trained to provide supervised visitation. This includes a student or intern in training for a post-graduate degree under the direct supervision of a licensed or certified mental health professional.
  • Parenting with Harmony DOES NOT offer Therapeutic Supervised Visitation at this time.
Friends or family members may be ordered or agree to supervise, or be present during supervised visitations. Professional providers may also be used, depending on the court order. Please fill out the form below to request an intake appointment.

What About Supervised Exchange?

Supervised exchanges allow parents and family members to exchange children without the face to face confrontation of parental encounters and provides the children with a comfortable and secure transition from one family member to another.
  1. Payment: There is an administration setup fee of $150. This is a shared cost between both parties 50/50 which means that services cannot start until both parties have paid their individual fees.
  2. The Supervised Exchange fee is $100 ($50 per party) for one exchange which is the transfer of a child from the custodial parent to the visitor or from the visitor to the custodial parent. OR $200 ($100 per party) for one exchange cycle, which is the transfer of a child from the custodial parent to the visitor and back to the custodial parent from the visitor after the visit has been completed on the same day.
  3. Fees must be paid 1 week in advance by cash or invoice (including electronic payment). All cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the exchange. If cancelled the exchange fee paid will be credited towards future supervised exchange services but NOT refunded. If the client does not give 48 hour notice or does not show up for the exchange (NO SHOW) Parenting with Harmony, LLC will retain the full amount of the exchange fee and it will not be eligible for future credit.
